This
newly established township is the district
headquarter of Tehri Gaehwal. It is situated at
an elevation between 1550 to 1950 mts. above sea
leval. A morden and well planned town, only 11
kms. from Chamba & 24 kms. from Old Tehri, it
overlooks a massive artificial lake and a Dam.
It was soon become an important centre of
attraction on the completion of tha dam.

Chamba: One of the brightest spots of
Tehri Garhwal, t 1676 mts, Chamba is just 60 kms
from Mussoorie. This quaint town offers one of
the most sepectacular views of snow capped
Himalayas and the enchanting Bhagirathi vally.
Being the center point of routes to Mussoorie,
Rishikesh, Tehri & New Tehri, Chamba is fast
changing into the ideal interlude.
Dhanaulti : Dhanaulti, located amidst
thick, virgin forest of Deodar, Rhododendron and
Oak, has an atmosphere of the long wooded
slopes, relaxed outdoors, cool caressing breeze,
warm and hospitable inhabitants, lovely weather
and fabulous view of snow covered mountains
makes it an ideal retreat for a relaxed holiday.
Situated on the Mussoorie - Chamba route,
Dhanaulti is 24 kms. from Chamba. For
accommodation, Tourist Rest House, Forest Rest
House, Hotel Drive-in Dhanolti and a couple of
guest houses are available.
Kempty Fall : 15kms. from Mussoorie on
the Yamunotri road having an altitude of
1215mts. It has the distinction of being the
biggest and prettiest water fall located in a
beautiful valley and is surrounded by high
mountains. A bath at the foot of the fall is
refreshing and enjoyable for children and adults
alike.
Kaudiyala : It is 37 kms. from Rishikesh
on the Rishikesh-Badrinath highway at an
altitude of 389 mts. Here, the mighty water of
Ganga is ideal for white water rafting.GMVN
conducts river rafting courses at Kaudiyala.
They provide rafts, river side camping items and
trained guides who make the sport a pleasure.
Safety precautions are also stressed on. There
is ample opportunity ti view wildlife in its
natural habitat.
